iTunes 11.1.2 playback distortion

I just upgraded to iTunes 11.1.2 and my playback audio is horribly distorted. It is definitely an issue with iTunes playing back the files. I can Play audio from another program and it is fine. It is not a hardware issue either. The sound is distorted on my internal speakers, the analog headphone out, as well as my outboard devices, Lexicon Omega, UA Apollo. All played well after upgrading to Mavericks but not after upgrading iTunes. This is a major fail with the iTunes guys. They need to get this fixed ASAP! Any help would be appretiated.

updated to OS Mavricks and now my music sounds canny and distorted when playing through Bose companion 5 speakers or internal speakers.. seams to play ok through Airplay on Denon Receiver..

Tried the "Turn off and then back on Equalizer" while the music is playing and it seams to work for one song at a time..

Apple Help.. Please fix, I need my music 😟

PS iTunes radio seams to be working just fine no matter the speakers or device selected..

Here is how to reproduce the problem:

If an EQ preset is chosen (and activated), every song will be played with a distorted sound. Disabling the EQ fixes the problem (and then enabling it again will play correctly, with the EQ preset correctly applied).

The fix is temporary though, because every time iTunes plays a new song, the distortion comes back again.

Manually disabling and re-enabling the EQ every time a song is played is a pain (it makes using iTunes with EQ for a party completely impossible) ! Please fix this issue soon !

(I'm using Snow Leopard, and iTunes 11.1.2 and this problem just occured since I upgraded iTunes)

I am also experiencing distortion of low end frequencies (sounds just like a blown woofer) on audio playback from iTunes. I have been unable to rectify the problem by deleting plist entries or reinstalling. I am currently running mavericks 10.9, iTunes 11.1.3 on a 2011 Macbook Pro 15". My audio interface is an Apogee Duet, but no other applications exhibit the audio symptoms, only iTunes. So I don't think the Duet or its drivers are at fault (though it could be a factor in my case).

Anyone else exhibiting fluttering of low end frequency distortion with iTunes please chime in. We need to build volume on this to get a resolution.

Thanks!

It might be something more than just what's happening with iTunes. I'm playing Google Music audio and I get the same exact distortion. Like a wavy vinyl record being played. I think it has something to do with Mavericks. I don't get the distortion in Google Music playing from Windows and Android machines on the same network. It's just my Mavericks on a MacBook Pro e2011.

I thought I was going insane and decided to do a search and saw people dealing with the same issue as me. I can listen to music on my 4th generation iPod, iPhone 4s and Amazon cloud player with no problem. The Amazon Clould player is playing it without distortion from the local iTunes library file and from Amazon's clould file. When I turn it up on hear pops an clicks on silent parts, just like an old album. Something has been broken. I selected every file and in the info set the eq to flat and that seems to have helped but I was going mad before.
