Mavericks Mail app and Gmail Drafts folder

After installing Mavericks I'm unable to unselect "Store draft messages on the server" and "Store sent messages on the server" checkboxes under my Gmail accounts settings. Unselecting both checkboxes and saving settings works for up to a minute or so - after that the check marks re-appear again by themselves. As a result I end up with dozens of half-finished drafts in the Trash folder after I finish the original and send it out.

I used to have both checkboxes unselected prior to Mavericks, and everything was working fine.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Apple scuks when it comes to a web service, so there is no chance they will go after Gmail. No way. It scuks in general when it comes to service. Look at iCloud! The fanbois shall alwas decalre it the best things ever happened to platent earth after fire or maybe the wheel.

Even if it does so, it will make sure that if you send an email from a Mac you can read it only on an iThing. Or maybe they can as well decide to limit the availability, of that mail, to another Mac only; you never know.

Wow, thank you. This seems to have solved the problem of literally hundreds of partial drafts from popping up all over the place.

Apple scuks when it comes to working with Gmail. I swear they are intentionally trying to hose it so we switch to iCloud (*NOT* gonna happen).

FYI, for all of you sick of Apple Mail making a mess of your GoogleApps mailbox... give Airmail.app a try. It's good. It's not quite as good as Mail.app when it comes to searching and editing but it's getting really, really close...

AHA!!! I found THIS out to help duplicate SENT items and make your settings stick (when using outlook.com anyway with IMAP).

Instead of going to MAIL>Preferences...

When MAIL is open on the bottom left there is a gear icon with a down arrow.

Click on that and scroll down to GET ACCOUNT INFO.

I can now deselect the DRAFTS selection and the SENT (store messages on the server) and the settings actually WORK! No more dups in SENT!

These changes aren't shown in the MAIL>PREFERENCES though, but it works for me. Definitely a MAIL app bug for apple then.

SPOKE TOO SOON: After quitting the Mail app and restarting the settings revert back to being checked ON. :S
