Mac App Store not showing updates in list..
MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I am seeing the same issue as others have reported- App srote takes forever to load, and when it does, everything is blank. Sometimes it just hags there.
This is not internet speed issue- I have no problem watching HD movies from the itunes store for example.
This is the 2nd major issue I am having with osx 10.9 (the other being an inaccessible external HD). Really annoying- Apple, I expected better QA from you!
@michael.boost today I had this issue of not receving any MAS purchased updates on one of our macs only. Your trick solved it but only after rebooting 🙂
This is happening to me using Sierra. As most of the messages here are 2 years old I am reposting to see if anyone has found a fix.
Symptoms: App Store updates show a badge saying 7 items require updating but the updates page lists no items, only those updated in the last 30 days
Yep, same here. I was able to update Final Cut Pro this morning just before all my other updates disappeared. I had the Final Cut download paused and was able to resume it from launch pad once it disappeared from the download list.
There are 4 more remaining that won't show up on the list, Numbers, Pages, Xcode and another.
Does it have to do with the updates being for Apple apps?
Any solutions out there would be great!
Go to the "Purchased" tab in search for one of the updated apps (e.g., Numbers). Click on the "Update" button to its right. This will update that app (and for me, made the other apps appear on the "Updates" tab again).
I am having this exact issue today. 10 updates showing in the menu, and in the icon, but when I open App Store, there are non listed. Tried all but reinstalling...
Thanks Andreas, that solved my issues. All my downloads are now showing again.
Same problem here. Notified that I had six updates waiting. Nothing there when I opened App Store. Rebooting didn't fix it. Updating one app manually from the Purchased list didn't fix it. I'm still waiting for remaining five updates to appear in the window. I hope that it will start working again soon. Manual updates are the only way to get it done right now.
Same here, on 10.12.1. Eight updates shown in the icon badge and in the system menu, but the updates tab on the App Store only shows updates previously installed in the last 30 days. Somehow, today's Keynote update got installed, though I don't recall approving any installations.
Tried clearing system and user caches with OnyX; signing out of App Store, rebooting, signing back in; signing out of iCloud, rebooting, signing back in; reinstalling macOS. No difference. Most of these same updates appear as expected in the App Store on my other Mac still running 10.11.6.
Previously I was running 10.12.1 developer betas, and I installed the release version of 10.12.1 two days ago. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? FWIW, macOS Sierra does not show up in my "purchased" tab, though macOS Sierra Developer Beta does.
Seems to be a problem with system that had Developer Beta installed. I have three systems showing the issue, all coming off beta. The 4th ran production and does not show the App Store issue.
I hope, Apple fixes it.
I'm having exactly the same problem with my iMac - 5 updates showing on the App Store icon in the dock, but none are listed when I open the App Store. I've tried rebooting several times, signing out and back into App store, and updating an app manually from the Purchased list didn't fix it for me either. Very frustrating. I updated to Sierra a couple of weeks ago, and then installed the latest update to 10.12.1 two days ago - didn't have any problems prior to that, so I assume it's something to do with the update.
Although there was a notification for 5 updates, only 4 available updates are showing in the Purchased tab - iPhoto is listed but showing as "Open" and I'm sure I haven't updated that for a while, so not sure if that's another glitch as well? Am currently updating the other 3 manually.
ETA: I note the mention in the two posts above mine re running "Developer Beta" - I don't even know what this is, so I definitely wasn't running it!
Edited again: OK, I seem to have success (of sorts). After installing the 4 updates manually, there is still a notification showing for 1 update and an iTunes update (12.5.2) now appears in the Update list - however when I click on the update button, there is an error message "The update has been deleted since being downloaded from the Apple Software Update server.(301)" - if I click on the update button again, it briefly changes to "Installed" and then changes back to "Update". I assume the error message means this update has been withdrawn?
Just a brief update to the above post (as I can't edit it again LOL). If I go to iTunes, it says the new version is available, and takes me to the App Store, where the update is still showing, but I still get the same "301" error message if I try to do the iTunes update.
ETA: Gave it one last try - have just rebooted (yet again), went back into App Store and now when I click on the iTunes update, it downloaded and installed. However I notice the Updates tab is no longer listed the updates installed in the last 30 days?
All of this is doing my head in!!!
For the record, I did not have any beta versions installed. I received and installed an update yesterday, with 10.12.1 already installed, so it's not likely a bug with that version. I'm guessing that it is systemwide issue.
Same symptoms. I'm also having issues with the Apple menu items not functioning (have to reboot / shutdown via terminal). Crayzee Sierra!
New information: I just discovered that, earlier this evening, the App Store installed two updates by itself. One was iTunes 12.5.2 and the other was macOS Recovery HD Update 2.0. It is still showing four more on the Update icon, but doesn't show the apps or check for updates when reloading the page. I can see from the Purchased page that the four apps needing updates are GarageBand, Keynote, Numbers and Pages.
