Updated To Mavericks, Now Audio Quality Blows.

I just updated to OS X Mavericks. However, after I updated I went to play music from iTunes and the playback quality sounds like my speakers are blown (on both my laptop and external speakers). But this has something to do with iTunes because my other audio from apps like Spotify and Vevo are normal. I restarted my computer but still doesn't make a difference.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Same exact issue. I thought I had blown my speakers somehow. I was about to make an appointment at the genius bar, but I figured I'd see if other people were having this issue as well. The only thing I've changed on my computer since the crappy sound quality is the update to iTunes and Mavericks.

I messed around with the equalizer, but it only fixed it temporarily. I would replay the song and my speakers sounded blown again.

Glad I'm not the only one, hopefully Apple will put out a fix soon!

Having the same audio issues. After upgrading to Mavericks and I am having audio issues watching movies from iTunes. Have not yet tried listening to any music from iTunes since installing Mavericks.

Audio issues resemble that of skipping CD to a dusty record, but the audio continues playing. I can get it to clear up by advancing to the next movie in the list. The next movie, the audio sounds fine. I then can skip back to previous movie at the same scene and it will be fine for about 10-15 mins then it will slowly start to get worse. I am watching Star Trek Into Darkness, it is an offical digital copy download from iTunes store. Running a 2012 15" MacBook Pro.

Exact same problem, I updated to Mavericks first and realised this problem - then I updated to the new iTunes thinking this was released to fix the problem but I'm still having it.

I like my music on the Hip Hop equalizer (it just sounds better) and now it sounds like my speakers have popped. If I use my MacBook speakers I can't tell as much but that's mainly because they're no where as good as my desktop ones.

It's like bass is coming out the satellites rather than the subwoofer which is super annoying. Hope Apple engineers are on this already working out a fix because it is needed ASAP.

Hi, just for the record, how can we submit a bug report to Apple? bugreport.apple.com?

I used it twice (once for this very bug, and some time ago for something else), but it does not seem that Apple had taken much care about my reports... Am I using the right tool? Or is there something else more suited to report bugs like that?

Thanks (and I'll try the trick of reinstalling iTunes tonight, I hope it'll work!)
