Additional Information

You should not alter the contents of the "~Library/Mail" folder

Important: Unless directed by an AppleCare Advisor, you should not use the Finder to alter the contents of your "~/Library/Mail" folder or its subfolders. Doing so circumvents Mail's ability to keep track of email messages, mailboxes, attachments, and so forth, and may result in data loss or other Mail issues.

So says Apple official site

I threw the entire record and have recovered all emails this year, but lost all others. We must make a choice, this is a problem that I already had from Montain Lion and before. So you choose, you have your email and your email does not work or you throw everything and you get all the email you have on iCloud it is a choice. I have my email works as he had never worked for months. If you take another mail program that is able to retrieve them completely before doing the work. I made troubleshoot Apple care for my email software there for months they have never been able to help me I have to drop. It is a choice. Excuse me for the Google translation.

The problem is the same with iCloud mail so it is not worth transfering all other mail accounts on icloud Mail using Apple Mai app . My iCloud mail continue to ask me my iCloud password every time I open it.

It is not a google mail issue (though there are issues with google too)

The problem is really with Mail App since Mavericks .

Of course you can always use only web mail ( Google or iCloud) but it's really annoying.

My Mail app always worked perfectly for years with three different mail accounts till Mavericks "upgrade".

An now iCloud mail is just a nuisance. (asking password in continuation)

Just updated to Mavericks and Mail would not import or update so I did a combo to make it work:

1. Made Library Visible by typing this into terminal: chflags nohidden ~/Library/

2. Deleted all files in /Library/Mail/ that begin with Envelope

3. Deleted the V2 folder in /Library/Mail/

4. Cmd-i on mail program and repair disk permissions, by removing corrupt permission and making my user name read/write all enclosed folders.

5. Finally opened Mail and it went on to import successfully

Good luck

Thanks for all the tips, especially Asterion
