Running Mavericks on MacPro 12GB RAM. Noticed the CPU consumption of the Wacom as astronomical and realised the reasons that Photoshop was doing the following: stationary beach ball as a pointer, tools lagging when switching from one to another, beach ball appearing briefly when processor intense actions occured, etc., were being caused by the wacom driver / mavericks upgrade. I was running 6.3.4 driver and decided to upgrade to 6.3.7 which then caused my dual monitor setup to become one monitor as I lost dual functionality. Only with a usb mouse which I luckily found sitting under some scsi cords in the back of a dark drawer, I had a two handed operation. After extensive searching for a solution and calling Wacom ("we're aware of the problem and workin' on it"), I found a forum in the Netherlands which offered a solution to the dual monitor problem (the other issues still exist).

Remove the Wacom tablet software via Applications>wacom>wacom utility

Unselecting "Displays have separate spaces" in Mission Control in System prefs

Disconnecting the tablet

Rebooting

Connecting the tablet

Reinstalling 6.3.4 driver (I didn't use the newer one as the old one worked - sort of - prior)

Two monitors back but other problems still exist...Wacom / Apple need to fix this.

I'm having some issues as well. I've got a 2012 Bamboo Pen & Touch tablet. The latest driver seemed fine at first, the tablet behaves pretty much as normal. However, 2 things:

– The wireless accessory kit no longer works. The tablet just won't recognise the USB receiver, nothing happens unless it's plugged in with a cord. Annoying, but not disastrous.

– I'm having weird issues with my keyboard when using the tablet. It's really hard to describe. It basically makes some of the keys 'sticky' – so the Mac thinks I'm holding down the space bar for example, when in reality there's no problem with the physical keys. It happens on the MacBook Pro keyboard, and on both a wired Apple keyboard or a wireless one. It's super annoying when trying to use Adobe programs!

Tried installing an older driver, and that made things worse. Any clue when these issues will be resolved?

Hi - I've got a Wacom Intuos 4 Wireless tablet - worked fine with my old imac - wich I'd updated to mavericks.

Bought a new imac this week with mavericks already on- it fails to find my tablet unless I plug it in via USB - the bluetooth option now is no longer avalable to me. Updated the drivers as suggested here, but still nothing.

Also I can't make the tablet left handed any more - it says it's left handed in the settings, but it's not showing up on the tablet itself.

Any good ideas anyone???

I've managed to get it to work using the new driver. It's no longer wireless though, and it states quite clearly now that wireless tablet is NOT supported.

Given that the tablet was not a cheap one, I am totally unimpressed with this situation. Really WACOM and Apple need to get their act together and sort this out.

Why would I waste my money on a wireless tablet, that is no longer wireless.

At least though I've managed to make it left handed again which is some small relief.

Hi,

I think the problem is a problem between the usb 3 port and the wacom receiver. When I plugged the receiver into 2 macbook air 2012 and 2013, the consol show IOUSBfamily error but it's work on a 2010 macbook pro with USB2. All mac are in 10.9.1.

Then, I try to plug the receiver into a usb extention cable and then the intuos pro M connected to the mac on wireless...

Hey people, can you test this on your mac ?

HI,

I had the same problem with my Wireless Intuos4, no bluetooth connection, works ok with cable. Removed software from Wacom utillity app and then installed newest driver pro637-3.dmg

Still no bluetooth...read a lot of forums on internet. Didnt work either; so I checked my network connections in network preferences....bluetooth connection was gone...hmmm.

THEN added a new BLUETOOTH connection in network preferences - with cable of my tablet unplugged of course - and mac found a new bluetooth device. Mind you recognised my tablet as a mouse but when completely added, the tablet works wireless again.

So hoping this will help you guys. On my macbookpro 2010 it seems that mavericks removed my bluetooth connection somehow. But after re-adding it in network preferences, it working smoothtly again. Seems a too simple solution, but hope it works out for you guys.

I also checked whether my antivirus software (sophos) wasnt blocking any incoming connections - but it wasnt. Possible that another antivirus software program might block you wireless connection.

Also might be just a driver problem, because you added the wireless set later, but I dont think it should really. I also removed ethernet connection (and added it again later) and removed other old connections I didnt use. If your tablet works with usb cable but not in wireless mode it should be 'just' a connection problem.

Sorry I cant be of more help; perhaps you should find someone with same tablet and accessory to try and make it work.

Usually mac is so simple that you overlook it.

Downloading a new or older version of the driver solve my whole problem. I was able to get the tablet to work but was unable to get it to switch to being left handed.

But what did was making sure all of the preferences were set correctly. This is what Wacom told me to do.

Download the driver http://cdn.wacom.com/u/drivers/mac/pro/WacomTablet_6.3.7-3.dmg

As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer. Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

To change the tablet into left handed mode please go to Apple Menu>System Preferences>Wacom Tablet.> Select the pen under tools, and click on the mapping tab> change the orientation to express keys right.

It was this step that did the trick for me: the mapping tab> change the orientation to express keys right.

The orientation of my pen didn't switch until after this step.

Found the solution!

My Intuos 4 was lagging also, to a point where I had to go back to trackpad or mouse. Frustrating!

I tried many different things but this is what fixed it in the end:

  1. Go to Applications > Wacom Tablet > Wacom Tablet Utility
  2. Click 'Remove' (This will delete your current Wacom Tablet Driver)
  3. Go to Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. (This may or may not have helped, but it's good to do anyway)
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Download the older 'WacomTablet_615-2' driver and install it. (I found an old copy on my computer)

Woohoo back in business! No laggy!

I'm planning to buy a Macbook 15" Retina Display with OSX Maverick.

I'm also wanting to purchase a Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch to use, but i'm afraid the tablet will stuff up my computer because it has happened and I've had to hold the power button to turn it off and on and it's really bad for my current macbook pro.

Does anyone have the new macbook and new Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch and know if it works fine and compatible with the OSX Maverick?

My wacom tablet does not work correctly after updating to mavericks.
