With Mavericks and Safari 7, I can no longer use address bar to search. It shows the suggested searches but nothing happens when hitting enter or clicking with mouse. What can I do? No extensions btw.
I just cannot search - it won't work.

I had this problem and finally figured it out. Try going to View, and then Show Toolbar. I hope this helps everyone...
EDIT: I didn't read your question carefully enough. Sorry. My problem was that the toolbar wasn't showing up at all.
I just tried booting in safe mode and then Safari works. What can be causing it then?

I have the exact same problem.
I can see the search results piling up under the address bar but choosing them does not work anymore...
