I am mot willing to give all my private data into a cloud service. Also I am not allowed to do so with my E-Mail settings at work. Not being able to sync this data without a cloud service made me configure all settings on 3 different iOS devices by hand today. Apple, this is full speed in the wrong direction. Bring this feature back ASAP. Not everyone is allowed to use iCloud, especially at work for example in the EU. This is a big cut in the useability of iOS devices in corporate environments.

Please remember that this forum is user-to-user.

There are a number of uncomfortable options that can be found in these forums, but whatever option is chosen should not distract one from letting Apple know how they feel.

Concerned users should remember that this issue encompasses three areas, so feedback should be provided to Apple through the relevant channels for iPhone, iTunes and Mac OS X at:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Feedback to Apple should always be constructive, informative and non-abusive. They are an intelligent company and they are more likely to respond to intelligent argument than flame-filled demands.

Some people have spoken to their respective local and national media about this issue.

I came across this thread and it has me concerned. I have a pc running windows 8 and I have not updated my iTunes to 11.1.2 yet because I'm worried the info tab will disappear and I won't be able to sync via itunes. Do any windows users know if this issue is related to itunes software or is just related to itunes software on Mavericks OS? I'd like to know before I update :/

This is intentional by apple to get us on the cloud. If you want to vary data you share by user then they want everyone to have separate Apple ID. My kids need separate ones unless I want to share everything, which is what apple forces you to do in the cloud. It is outrageous. I've been migrating my family to apple for the last couple of years. That is now coming to an abrupt halt.

Here is how I am addressing it I am moving iTunes to a pc where the latest version of iTunes still has the info tab. This will give me time to work it out Will move all data to outlook contacts and calendar. Then I will move some information to google contacts and calendar because they have the authorization levels and functionality working reliably and also because my children's school uses google apps.

Then I really don't need my Mac Pro. I hear they hold resale value very well, which is good.

I updated to iTunes 11.1.3.I have hoped that info bar would be back but NO, info bar is not back.

I am using Outlook for Mac that has features I need that Mac Mail still does not have, and I also prefer the Outlook format. So I cannot and do not want to sync using icloud. I feel that removal of info tab is the first step to force users to use only what Apple wants users to use, ie iCloud that Apple has designed. (This is not relevant at the moment: but if you do remove Outlook for Mac one day, I promise you, I will leave the Mac World immediately and many of my friends will do the same and ).

I was told that the only way to get info tab back is to revert to Mountain Lion, the previous system. This is messy and time consuming. Moreover, why can't we use the latest system when one is available? The reason for an update in system is to improve, meaning Mountain Lion is outdated. Maverick is good, but whats the sweat to leave info tab on iTunes?

The only reason I changed to using Mac and iPhone from windows is the ability of local syncing between iphone and Mac. As this feature is gone with the latest and improved system ie Maverick, I will have to think about reverting to windows that I have used for 20 years and get rid of my iphone and buy a different smart phone that is compatible. No, I am not hooked on Mac and iphone yet!

I have seen the uproar from users about this syncing problem since Maverick came. I have seen that you have received tens of thosands of complains and expressions of anger from users about the removal of the info tab.So Mr Tim Cook if you do not want to lose your market share, hear us and do something about this info tab on Maverick iTunes!!!!!

This is a HUGE mistake. For reasons I won't go into here, I can not sync my entire contacts database to my phone. No problem with the phone, but with another device that interacts with the phone. So, I created a group with just those contacts I wanted on my phone, and used iTunes to sync just that group to the phone.

I can see NO WAY to do that with the clever new system. Come on Apple! What are you thinking? Take away a very nice piece of functionality!
