Three finger swipe no longer works on Mavericks

I have just updated to Mavericks.

Prior to installing Mavericks, I was able to do a 3 finger swipe left or right to go back or forward in a Finder window.

After I have installed Mavericks, I can no longer do this. I have checked in System Preferences/Trackpad and the settings are exactly as they were before I updated to Mavericks.

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and if so have you found of solving it.

I've just installed Yosemite today and am currently trying my various applications to see if they are working fine. So far so good. Only issue I'm having is 1Password, which for some unknown reason has decided to not show my folders containing certain logins, but that's a different story.

Nice to have this handy feature back, I've now uninstalled Better Touch Tool, which is what I've been using since Mavericks to give me the Three Finger Swipe feature back.

I was knew that Yosemite would have the Three Finger Swipe in a Finder window feature back, a few months back, but when I posted that it had, my post got removed, as we aren't allowed to discuss beta software, surprised at this as it was a public beta 😕

These are the settings I use in System Preferences/Trackpad and I can confirm that the three finger swipe in a Finder window is working again. Perhaps compare your settings to mine and see if you can see the reason why you can't get it to work on you Mac.

I was having the same problem and the follow worked for me (god knows why):

1. open system preferences / trackpad

2. go to 'more gestures'

3. select 'swipe left or right with three fingers' on the 'Swipe between full-screen apps' pulldown menu

4. make sure 'Swipe between full-screen apps' is un-selected (check mark disappears)

5. close trackpad window

6. open system preferences / trackpad

7. go to 'more gestures'

8. select 'Swipe between full-screen apps' (check mark appears)

9. close trackpad window

10. give it a try...good luck

This worked like a champ. You have to follow the directions closely.
