Java SE 6 runtime update

Hello,

When opening an application like Adobe Photoshop CS4 on my Macbook Pro (2009) OS X Mavericks, I receive a popup stating "You need Java SE 6 runtime."

When clicking install I am prompted with "Can't download the software because of a network problem."

I have tried restarting my computer, installing a new version of Java, and also turning my wifi off in network preferences, and then turning it back on.

Please help with this issue.

I'm having this issue as well. Nothing happens when i click on the links to download the java. Why is this? Why does apple keep releasing products that kill older programs. To say that I knew I shouldn't have downloaded the newest software is an understatement that I make each time.

My apologies if this has been answered already down the thread but I got the same problem, blank page on Safari, but I found a solution: I pasted the URL on Firefox and I got the page content and link to download the installer. Now Illustrator is working. Ironically, Safari (at least 8.0) has a problem rendering the page Java for OS X 2014-001. All the best!

I 've had the blank page for the above link either.

But, "Remove all website data" and try the link again. It worked for me 🙂

Hahah, I had the same sense of misgiving when I caved to installing the Yosemite update . . . was able to get the Java update on the Google Chrome browser. Safari is my default browser, but it may not be for much longer.

Funny that you have to use something else than Safari to download MacOS java update 🙂 But it worked for me also, Chrome did the job.
