I have had the iphone 5s when it came out and the only reason I got the iphone 5s was my iphone 4 home button stopped working and to my delight…..the On and off button broke, so I was unable to do anything and apple wanted $200 + to fix it.
So I went and got the iphone 5s, set up went really smooth and all my date transferred over to the new iphone without a hiccup.
After the first day my finger print stopped working, so I rest it again, work for most of the day, in the morning it stopped working again.
3 trips to the Apple Genius’ they replaced the phone for me in the end; I thought it must have been maybe a bad batch.
As of today the new one does the same thing’ works good for about half the day’ Now it getting on my nerves and I just disabled the password, so now all I do is press the home button and swipe and I’m in…works great every time……..But that’s not how it’s supposed to work, called my apple care sent them an email nor return what so ever ….. Must be fed up with me calling all the time’ I must have funny finger prints… (No pun intended).
So I sat down and did my own home work’ in the end I came to the conclusion if I disabled the Reduced Motion feature, because I didn’t like it for my locked screen…..well I didn’t believe my eyes…it worked…..it excepted my finger print….and the funny thing is’ I did not follow the proper instructions that apple gives on how to setup your finger print. I just used my same thumb without doing any adjustment like it asks you to-do…I also have come across other threads that did the same thing, so this should help Apple hopefully it can be addressed by a firmware update…Maybe.
