I had this problem too, but then I tried this

1) Go to "System Preferences"

2) Open "Energy Saver"

3) Remove the tick from "Put hard disks to sleep when possible"

I came to that solution, because I realized that the resulting video files had almost the same size, their difference was tiny. And I always started the video rendering and left my Mac for a while. But once I kept on doing something else after starting the rendering and then the reulting video file was bigger.

I hope this works for all of you!

I have similar probrem. I can not share my video to the "file" nor iTunes. Rendering process stops at 110 MB and iMovie returns message: video rendering process -50, without any explanation what to or how resolve the problem.

I can only share the viodeo to Movie Theater. So, it makes iMovie completely useless. I spend 4 weeks creating my holiday video and now a CAN'T export it to the file or iTunes.
