Final Cut Studio 2 on new iMac..

Hello I just recieved a new 27 in imac with OS 10.8.4...I need to run Final Cut Studio 2 on it I will be getting Final Cut X soon and will need to be able to edit older projects too.. ..I've seen some options on how to get it to install but am a bit confused..If someone could walk me throught it..it would be much appreciated

We aren't programmers...we are end users. End users who relate our experience, or expertise with the given software, in this case FCP...and share what we know works and what doesn't. The "Rosetta Solution" has been tried and true not only for me, but several people I know, and have help fix their systems, and for countless people on the forums here who report back after doing the Rosetta install as "Great! Things are working fine now! Thanks!" I don't recall any of them coming back saying things were messed up.


You are the only person here who says it's bad. But hey, we give you the benefit of the doubt and offer multiple solutions...the Rosetta install, and yours.


And yes, Michael is an expert in FCP.

None of the installation methods are "mine."


Pacifist has existed for years and Jeremy Johnstone is the author of his "Terminal" method.


It is a shame that none of you FCP "experts" will take the ball and run with Jeremy's "Text Edit" method of installing FCS2; a method that would have NONE of the dangers of using Terminal or installing Rosetta...
