Does iDVD still work under Mavericks?
Has anybody checked it out yet? It sure appears that there's no update coming, so it would be good to know if compatibility will be broken with the OS upgrade.

Yes, just used it.
Just tried importing the mp4 I created in iMovie (v 10.0) to iDVD (v 7.1.2) and couldn't get it to import.. frustrating how un-easy this all seams to be. =P Guess I'll try using MPEG Streamclip, but does anyone know if it keeps chapter markers doing this?
Do you have the previous imovie version? You could also import it there and then export it for iDVD.
Yeah.. guess I could do that. I want to get used to the "new thing".. but it seems the old way is a better way for us dinosaurs still using those pesky DVDs, haha.
I played with the new iMovie version and won't be using it much - very few/little possibilities to edit or have any control over the export quality as the emphasis is on exporting to Youtube, iCloud, etc. Too simplified for me.
Perfect solution! Thanks so much. I was begining to wonder if I'd be able to use iDVD with the new Mavericks. I had tried everything I could think of when I came across your post. Your tutorial was awesome.
I have the lastest iMovie, and shared the file (1080, 16:9) to the Movies folder.
I then created a new project in iDVD and then selected the file from the movie menu on the left.
All worked fine.
Unexpected really.
Don't drag file from other folders, or cut and paste. It seems like there might be some sort of relationship when the file is chosen from the Movie folder - perhaps that triggers a codec in iDVD...I don't know. But it worked fine for me.
