MacBook Air vs ethernet HD

Hi everybody, I hope someone could help me to fix this. I have a MacBook Air I wish to connect to a ethernet shared RAID Lacie 2Big HD on which I've already set up a .sparsebundle file in order to get TimeMachine working. Problem is just that my MBA won't see the shared HD. Any clue? Please do not answer with the old http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4700 for legacy AFP. It doesn't work.

Thanks,

Dan

many such identical questions have been asked,

the easy answer many dont want to accept is that Time machine backup OTHER THAN dirrect connect or Time capsule network connects is unreliabe if it does work at all.

  1. A Time Capsule
  2. A USB disk connected to a Time Capsule
  3. A "shared" disk/partition connected to another Mac running Leopard 10.5.6 or later on the same local network
  4. An available Mac OS X Server version 10.5 or greater
