Problems with iPhoto after Maverick installation

After 'free' :-) installation of Mavericks, iPhoto doesn't work...

When I take a look in the App Store I recognized

that It isn't possible to update my Version of iPhoto..?

I bought iPhoto two years ago and I'll not buy it again - the same programm.

I need help!

By trash, I mean drag the iPhoto application icon from the Applications folder into the trash icon on the dock; the way you describe could work too. Though I don't use launchpad.

But your case sounds different than mine, and I'm no expert... That's a weird error message you got though, and if you got iPhoto from the app store (that is if you have no discs, or it came installed?), that'd be a place to start, maybe by trashing the app and re-installing... FYI my photo library upgrade was quick too; a minute or so if I remember correctly.
