Problems with iPhoto after Maverick installation

By trash, I mean drag the iPhoto application icon from the Applications folder into the trash icon on the dock; the way you describe could work too. Though I don't use launchpad.

But your case sounds different than mine, and I'm no expert... That's a weird error message you got though, and if you got iPhoto from the app store (that is if you have no discs, or it came installed?), that'd be a place to start, maybe by trashing the app and re-installing... FYI my photo library upgrade was quick too; a minute or so if I remember correctly.

Wow, everyone's having so much trouble 😕,

I just fixed it by opening the Maverics' 'App Store.app', go to update, clicked intall all (or you could just install the iPhoto update if you wish) and all issues were fixed for me! Simples!

Note that the last post in this thread prior to yours was nearly two months ago - predating the latest updates to iPhoto and Mavericks Yes keeping up to date is a smart idea - but prior to the update being released no one could use it 😉

I had the same problem. After much searching I went and clicked on the apple and 'about this mac' and then a men popped up with all the updates I needed after installing Maverich, then I opened iphoto and it went through a lot of conversions also. All seems OK now.
