Very slow open cr2-photos

Hi

The only solution I have found to quickly view RAW images in Mavericks is by using "Cover Flow" in the finder. When I use Cover Flow the .CR2 images from my Canon 5D MKII load instantaneously.

2010 MBP, 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB Ram, Samsung 840 EVO SSD. Running OSX 10.9.1

... to solve the problem I installed the SSD but with MAC Mavericks has remained slow (4 seconds for a preview of a file FINDER CR2 "25Mb!)

HELP !!!

10.9.2 fixed the slow preview bug as some people said.

sad to say, 10.9.2 just installed, but the bug seems to remain

Add me to the list.. just upgraded to 10.9.2 from ML because it kept bugging me to.. now im sorry I did..

Preview is not even an option with how slow it is..

I had the same problem, "Preview" took forever to load photos until someone today suggested looking at the memory card I was using. Usually I use a 32gig card, so today I filled a 16gig card with photos (CR2 files) took it home and Preview loaded them instantly, yet when I put the 32gig card back in with just 20 photos, I was back to snails pace. I don't know if this is the solution for everyone but it has certainly worked for me. 🙂

I'm not reading from a memory card at all. Straight from my hard drive. Before upgrade to Mavericks, CR2 viewing was "normal" speed... now that I have Mavericks, not even an option to use Preview to view..

6-10 seconds to load next picture into view..

Reading raw files from SSD should be lightning fast just as it was on ordinary disc 4 years ago. It's a shame Apple is neglecting user feedback after so many upgrades. Well, might as well start looking for other apps.

Any news here? Still effin slow on Mac OS Sierra. 😟
