Mavericks Launchpad, missing icons

I used a Launchpad editor program on 10.8.5 and earlier, and it worked great. Unfortunately now I have no icons on any of my Launchpad items. I tried the reset command from the editor to no avail. Anyone find a Launchpad editor that works with Mavericks?

I had the same problem as well, and I found a way to fix it, but not knowing a permanent fix or a temp one.

Boot into os in safe mode: hold down SHIFT while booting up, login and see if the icons are there. If icons are there then log out and restart the computer in normal mode and the problem should be fixed.

P.S. While using safe mode booting, the time it takes to boot, load, login and out and restart will take significantly longer then usual, please be patient and let it do all the steps before you do anything else.
