Best iPad Air / iPad 5 Case?

Anybody starting their search for an iPad Air case? Think Otterbox will create a case for this?

Best case? Wow that depends on so many things. Do you want it waterproof? Shockproof? Are you fashion conscious? What's your favorite color? Etc. etc.

Otterbox is coming out with them:

For me I wanted something really slim which wouldn't take away from how light and thin the iPad air is. Also being able to put the case in stand mode to watch videos/TV and a good typing angle were important factors for me.

I had previously tried cases such as the Switcheasy Canvas which was good, but a bit heavy and the stand angles would slip easily.

This guy does some awesome reviews of cases, here's one of the Devicewear Ridge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI0vPsehhMQ and that clinched it for me, lol. Especially as he's reviewed loads of cases in the past, and said this ones the best ipad case he's used!

Best price I found was over on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00G4EBO24

I've had it a few weeks now and would deff recommend it.

WEll an update, stear clear on the Gumdrop on the ipad air, well at least of this date and the early issues.

Why ?

They must of guessed to get them out early because the buttons don't line up normally, and they must of thought it was going to have mono sound as the speaker placement is wrong.

As of this date, the only cover I have is the Smart Case. I really like it, but the ipad air glass seems thin and as there is now an airgap it sounds kind of hollow which means there is room for flex.

I have gone off Otterbox a bit and am now waiting for a Lifeproof, although all advertising of their ipad air case 'coming soon' has gone last I checked. Maybe they are finding it too much of a risk for their brand ?

I will say my Air took a tumble as I lerf it on my duvet in the Smart Case and it tumbled onto a laminated oak floor. It was totally fine thank goodness.

Lets keep this thread updated for good protective cases, the iPad Air need one imo.

I basically went with this in conjunction with a black Smart Cover:

Very light, minimalistic, and gives a matte back finish for better grip. I paired this up with a black Smart Cover. So whenever I don't need it, I can detach the Smart Cover and just use my iPad Air with only the case

I wanted some protection without affecting the weight too much. Part of the reason I got an iPad Air is because of the weight.

I wanted to retract what I said about recent Otterbox cases. I bought my last one from Ebay stupidly. I should know better, it was a fake, very good one.

So just watch out, although my Gumdrop I bought from there was fine.

Some of the iPad air cases from Gumdrop were brought out too early and don't fit very well, the picture even shows the still have the mono speaker ports on the Air case, obviously the Air has stereo speaker outlets now.

I have had the Apple smartcase for 4 months now and it is wearing ok, I wouldn't like to take my ipad outside in it however.

I love the lifeproof, but my Air 32gb only cost me £360 after tax , I bought it from bestbuy when visiting my sister in New York and it was on sale.

I'm not spending almost a third of the Air on a case, no way.

Other the smartcase , the only one I have liked is the UAG case. I have one for my Galaxy s3 and its protection to added size ratio works for me, as well as the pricing.

Not for everybody, but if I was to use it outside, I would use this. That may be the case soon anyway as I am about to buy a Eventide h9 and it is controlled from the ipad.

Well I just commented on a similar post to recommend Everything Tablet cases as I've bought a fair number for three different iPad types.
Compared to some of the big guys I've tried (I don't want to name any names so I won't mention Belkin or Logitech whose overpriced crap failed me pretty quick 😝) Everything Tablet was a real blessing.

Currently looking for a multi-purpose charger... can someone point me in the right direction??
