Why does "Insert MathType Equation" not work in new Pages for Mac?

Command opens MathType (6.7e). After typing an equation, pressing Command-W closes the MathType window and returns to Pages. (Instructions given here: http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.0/#/tan0e6bf8310 indicate that I should have to answer "Yes" to some question at this point, but no question appears. The return to Pages is automatic.) But no equation appears in the placeholder in the Pages 5.0 document (as it does in Pages 4.3). Subsequently double-clicking the placeholder in the Pages 5.0 document opens a new (blank) MathType window. Where is my equation?

Thanks for the reply. I tried different preferences in mathtype6.7e (cut and copy preferences) and I exported as both a .doc and .docx. What I get is the following: If any equation was originally written in pages 4.3 they come up as low resolution images (still a major dissapointment) and if I create a new equation, I get a blank image after the export to word. It is still there in pages5.0. I am using word2008. That may be the problem. I wonder if I need 2011. I still would not be happy if the conversion strips the mathtype and converts to an low res image though. I do not want to be stuck only using pages since I am old enough to remember appleworks and clarisworks. Cheers.
