MacBook Pro Ethernet Stopped Working after Installing Mavericks
Hello,
Today I installed Mavericks on a Mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro. This was not a fresh install; Mavericks went in over Mountain Lion. After the installation I am unable to connect to the internet via the built-in ethernet port.
WiFi still works- that's how I'm now connected. I can also connect to ethernet using a USB-ethernet adapter (purchased for use with a MacBook Air).
With WiFi off and a cable plugged into the ethernet port, I can ping the MacBook Pro from another computer on the LAN; also I can ping in the other direction. However, I cannot see computers or folders listed in the Shared section of the Finder.
Some kind of low-level functionality appears to be there- in Network in System Preferences I see that ethernet is connected, I'm getting a DHCP-assigned IP address, etc. If I unplug the cable, ethernet instantly switches to "Not Connected".
Just no useful ethernet connection.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
