Java on OS X 10.9 Mavericks: cannot VPN Remote Access through Check Point "SSL Network Extender" (SNX)

After installing OS X Mavericks, I cannot activate Remote Access through Check Point "SSL Network Extender" (SNX).

The Java Console mentions "./SNX/CSHELL/SNXAC4MAC.jar not found".

The final message I get from Safari is "download failed" in a small popup window.

I cannot find anything at the Check Point website or user group forum.

The Java 1.7 latest update installed, uninstalled, reinstalled through Oracle; also tried installing "Java for Mac OS X 2013-005" without any success.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Solved! Actually, I have everything up and running, without Oracle's Java 7, using "Java for OS X 2013-005".

Here are the steps:

1. Remove everything from Oracle, follow the instructions from their website.

2. Remove even more from Oracle, using the official instructions from Apple. Copy paste the Terminal commands. Don't worry if you get an error with one or two commands, this is because you removed Java 7 already in the previous step (1).

3. Finally, re-install "Java for OS X 2013-005" from Apple. This should be a redundant step, but I needed this to have everything up and running again.

Now everything should be working again! Java is actually downgraded from 1.7 ("Java 7" shortly) to 1.6, but I couldn't care less. I have Remote Access through Check Point up and running once again.

Of note, Oracle may update Java 7 soon, adjusting compatibility with OS X Mavericks, but actually I don't care anymore!

I did all the steps you have here and it is still stuck on the initializing. I am so new to OS. I just got a new MacBook air and trying to migrate my work stuff to it. Please help
