App windows keep being deselected in OS X Mavericks

It's tough for me to even finish writing this because OS X keeps dropping whatever app I'm using and goes back to the desktop. This started happening after the Mavericks upgrade.

There are no error windows popping up in the background. I have force quit everything. I have restarted over and over and over.

I probably had to reselect this window to finish writing this about 60+ times.

Anybody else having this issue?

I had the same active window deselection problem. The problem, in my case, turned out to be a bluetooth device that had once been paired with my computer and was no longer paired. It kept trying to pair to my macbook even though the macbook's bluetooth was set to on but "undiscoverable". Originally this caused "do you want to pair" windows to appear on on screen regularly. After a lot of fooling around with plists and what not I got that to stop. Then I noticed that when I was working on something my active window would deselect every couple of minutes. For a while I thought I must have been touching the trackpad or doing something to cause the problem. It was very annoying and made it difficult to work. It took me a few days to realized that what was happening was that the bluetooth device was getting the attention of the computer. So even though I had stopped the messages from popping up with my plist script, whenever I had the bluetooth device powered on (a Bernafon Soundgate 2) it was still trying to connect to my macbook pro and was causing the active window to deselect. This morning I trashed my special plist script, rebooted, turned the bluetooth device back on and the message windows reappeared (as expected). I reset the the bluetooth device to factory settings so that it erased all of its pairing information and re-paired the device to my phone which is all it needs to be paired with (I use it to stream music wirelessly from my phone to my hearing aids and to make and receive phone calls through my hearing aids). The messages stopped and the the deselection of my active window has stopped. Life is good.

*** I found the answer, at least as it pertain to me ***

Since i see "reportcrash" constantly in activity log., something is crashing.

I looked in the System.log and found that software i deleted, which was not fully deleted is trying to launce but is crashing and rebooting constantly.

I need now, fully uninstall that/those apps.

The crash going on in the background is causing the havoc!
