After installing Mavericks, most of the applications on my computer couldn't not be opened.
I have no problem on the first few hours but after that lots of application that I have on my computer can't be open (eg. iMessage, FaceTime, Maps, Preview, App Store...)
Anyone have a solution on this problem or have similar problem?

same issue here! Cant open iCal, iMessages, or the app store (from what I discovered so far) I can open mail for now but I cant do anything insde it from reading a "clicked on" email to deleting the account (so I can re-add it trying to troubleshoot)...
Thought well, maybe they know by now and have sent out an update... which would be great if my app store opened.
Ive been die hard Mac for 5 years now. This is he first time I ever got f***ed.
So, I cant check email, cant see my calandar, I cant send and recieve messages... so what am I suposed to do now? I have a $3,000.00 Machine to play Portal 2 on? Wait... I should check if that works... Well, at least my GOOGLE Browser still works...
Try launching the Apps from Finder > Applications folder if that doesn't work, create a new user and see if it works there.
I am facing the same problem from last one hour. I am unable to open the native applications of mac like Messages,Reminders,App Store,Dictionary,iBooks,Maps,Facetime,Terminal,Calender. I am clueless and I am little tensed. iTunes and Safari are working fine!
I tired to open the applications from the application folder. They are not working. They just bounce, flashes and doesn't open 😟
Negative. Just tried. Nothing opens from the aplications folder in a finder window. Created new user and made admin. Also nothing worked there. Also confirmed I cant open FaceTime or Maps either on top of the above mentioned ones but I dont live off those. Could still open email and recive email but as soon as I click on a message to read it I still sit there looking at "no message selected" but I am recieveing emails. Thank god for icloud.com...
My brother had the same issue, Photoshop, Illustrator ....not working right after upgrade. A restart solved the issue. My problem is different, it's slower than mountain lion so far. Not sure if a clean reinstall will do the job. Mail, Photoshop, even Safari are slower especially when opening files in Photoshop or loading mails in Apple mail. Pretty disapointed.

you should probably paste this in the right thread. Im a frelance graphic designer and am having no known issues inside Illustrator and photoshop. Illustrator and after effects are running right this very second. Like you said yourself "my problem is different". So why is it here? If you can OPEN your native Mac aps like iMessages your better off than we are.
We need to quickly report this gruesome bug to the Apple people! But How?
next advice would be to try a clean install. I know it's a pain in the....moving files and reinstalling stuff, but I think you will be good with this one.

LOL well I am guilty to say that I have never do a clean install since the day I got this macbook 😝 . From leopard to snow leopard and now mavericks. This is the reason I got mac on the first place, I dont have to do a clean install every year like most windows machine do.
I was giving an advice to soapiestHeart35, my issue was not important. I was telling her/him to try a restart, not knowing if this is right after update or not. I was mearly mentioning my problem, and believe, problem will be solve at the next update, not on this forum. Why that bothered you?
I switched to Mac from that reason and other, but I still do a full install once every 2 years or so. With windows I was doing it a couple of times per year 🙂
To update our OS, we need to open the App Store, which doesn't open up! 😟
