Mail rules in OS Mavericks 10.9 don't apply to Sent Messages

The filter action to color an outgoing message works automatically on my system, but as others have noted, the "move" function won't work except on incoming mail.

The rules "News from Apple" have an "after performing" rule "Stop evaluating rules" included that should not be there and prevent all other rules from working. Removed this action and all rules work again (Apple needs to update Mail to remove this).

There is no "News from Apple" rule in my Mail ( version 7.1 on OS X 10.9.1 ), so I suspect the issue you found might help some but not others ( like me ).

Strange....I upgraded an iMac at work, my wife iMac, my son MacBook, my mac pro and my MacBook Pro and they all had the "News from Apple" installed by Maverick with the problematic rule. May be you did a custom install or some kind of migration....

Removing that "News from Apple" rule or removing the "stop evaluating rules" rule in other rules has NO effect on the Apple Mail filter bug.

I swear that It fixed it but as of today the problem is back....I have to apply the rules manually again....and I got a new problem: automatic fetch has stopped working as well.....(several thread about this as well)

I just upgraded from 10.8.5 to 10.9.1 and have come across this bug. I've got 89 rules defined any they only apply on mail as it comes in, the Message->Apple Rules command doesn't move them after the fact. I'm heading over to give Apple feedback now at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Well, the latest Mavericks update seems to have fixed the rule issue in Mail, I think.

Mine is now Mail version 7.2 (1874), and applying the 'Move to' rules even to the emails left on the server, now correctly get moved to the appropriate folders on my Mac.

I haven't tested intensively yet, but will try once again tomorrow.

I concur, 10.9.2 fixes these problems:

--- You can now manually drag a message from mailbox "Joe" to the inbox (you couldn't, on 10.9.1).

--- Rules containing RUN APPLESCRIPT now work from mailboxes other than INBOX

--- Rules containing MOVE MESSAGE TO now work from mailboxes other than INBOX.

It has not fixed mine. Still won't allow me to use rules. I can't even open it up.

You can't even open MAIL ?

I can open mail. I can't open the Rules. It doesn't even let me open it under the menu of "Message" "Apply Rules".

I don't understand. If you can't open Mail (the application), then how can you get a menu at all?
