11.1.2 Crashing constantly

Hi,

Never had any noticeable problem with iTunes in the years I have been using it, but since upgrading to Mavericks and version 11.1.2 it's falling over constantly for me. Seems to be the same crash and it's not even triggered by iTunes being active - it falls over in the background when I am doing something else.

This evening I am lucky to get more than 2 songs played between crashes though sometimes it has taken longer to fall over. Anyone experiencing similar? Can I submit a bug report here?

Thanks,

C.

I was having hte same problem, drove me nuts. I *think* I resolved it by disabling photo sharing in iTunes. Was testing that for a while and it was running crash free but now I installed the just-released iTunes 11.1.3 :-) **** Apple, ruining my betatesting with your bugfixes... keeping photo sharing off untill I haven't had a crash for a longer time. Don't know whether 11.1.3 squashes the bug that was pestering me.

I had also this problem. Tried yesterday update 11.1.3 with no crashes so far. Fired up both iPad and iPhone wifi sync simultaneously to test the version, and apart from a long security backup in both devices (usually longer for my iMac late 2009) everything went fine. I think this is solved by Apple with this update.

Have you tried your systems?

Yep I have the same problem with it crashing.

It keeps telling me "Unable to check for avaliable downloads, network connection was lost" (but is downloading app updates) and also "Unable to copy to HD" about every 30 secs. It also won't transfer my film purchases from my iPad and I can't sample music on the iTunes store....2010 iMac, Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.2 (well I think but it has just crashed again so I can't check!)

For me, disabling the photo sharing to Apple TV in iTunes has stopped the crashes (File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV...). After no crashes for two days, I installed 11.1.3 but keep the photo sharing off for the moment. Still no crashes, 4 days and counting... If all keeps going well, I will enable the photo sharing again and see what gives.

Slowly regaining confidence in my Mac.

For those of you who have Itunes crashing constantly...having your speakers attached to a USB hub instead of directly to computer may be causing it. Just bought a new IMac...i was able to attach my speakers to hub on my previous laptop...however, on IMac, the speakers were causing Itunes to crash. I upgraded to Mavericks the same time I got my new computer so I can't tell if it's Mavericks or Imac.

I'm also having issues with itunes crashing, although mine seems to be more related to podcasts. I am unable to mark any podcast as 'listened to' without having to first go to the 'my podcasts' tab at the top. When I go there itunes freezes up.

A couple of times it has also frozen and even forced a restart of my iMac.

This has only been an issue since I upgraded to Mavericks.
