Uninstall Offers4U

I just upgraded to Mavericks.

There is an annoying shopping/pricing "tool" being overlayed on most Safari pages. How do I remove it, kill it, hunt down the code writer... anything... help!

It does give you the opportunity to go to the "offers4U" website, download an uninstaller, and use that tool. Unfortunately, that uninstaller is a .exe file and useless to me... us.

Thanks!

Not sure if thats a plugin or extension but we can find out... Safari > Preferences > Extensions if u see it there remove it, if not then /Library/Internet Plug-Ins (move it from there into trash) / Also check ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Make sure Safari is not running.

Allelujah!

This has had me raging for the last few days since I downloaded something I shouldn't have. Chrome was plagued with Adware, and almost every time I clicked on ANYTHING on a page, another random page would pop up - usually MacKeeper (die!!!!), something similar or some gambling/dating website. Also, every time I went to search for something in the browser it would use some other search engine called Smart Search, which was really ******* me off as I have my default set to Google for a reason!

So anyway, I checked out that Adware Removal Guide, downloaded Adware Medic as instructed and it eradicated all of the above problems in seconds. I even felt compelled to donate a few dollars after that 🙂

Thanks

Just to all those who are struggling with thinks like MacKeeper and Offers4u poping up, the http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php really works. I was scarred ill ruin my computer further by downloading more unknown apps, but it worked like a dream.. it took a minute or so to download, found all the adware, removed it..... and now no more pop ups! thank you to all who recommended this website
