Video format for PAL DVDs
What format do I compress my videos to in order to make them compatible to import onto a PAL DVD?
I have compressed them to m2v and a3c files, but DVDSP says they are imcompatable when I try to import.

Simply use the time based DVD settings in Compressor.
There is no specific PAL version of these settings, they inherit the properties of your source footage.
So when I try to import my compressed files, the alert comes up saying "NTSC assets can not be imported into AL projects"... is there a way to change the format of an NTSC asset so it is compatable?
Well, I did make it a PAL project, so I figured it was something with the video file...
I actually found out what I did, I think... I needed to export out of Final Cut Pro to a PAL setting (>Make Quicktime Movie), then compress to any DVD format and import into the DVDSP project.
Does that sound right?
Thank you for your help!
Your sequence in FCP has to be set to PAL before exporting
Fwiw, in almost all cases, pal DVD players and TVs will play NTSC DVDs
Oh! Even in Europe?
Yup. Never had a problem when I've been in Europe or when I've sent DVDs there.
And a NTSC DVD will always play on a computer unless you've assigned a region code.
Great! Thanks so much, that's good to know.
