What do you mean by lagging? Is it slow to appear on startup?

The dock is hidden and when it pops up its is lagging.
Could be a lack of RAM, or slow hard drive. Your computer seems older being a MacBook and not a MacBook Pro. I would recommend upgrading the RAM.

it is a macbook pro retina from 2013 8GB RAM and a flash hard drive
Same here, rMBP 13" 8GB Ram, lagging Dock, Browser , Mission Control after Upgrading to Mavericks.
also same here, retina 13", lagging dock, safari, etc. hope apple will solve the problem.
I've got the same problem!
Same here, it does not show if the pointer is at the bottom of the screen. I have to move up, then move it downwards so the dock shows....
I don't like to set it to be visible all the time.
Mine is 15" MBP retina 8GB RAM, SSD 512Gb 2.3Ghz 2012
I did a fresh reinstall from a usb drive without using my TM or SuperDuper Backup. It worked fine for me, no more lagging or framedrops. Starting fresh is quite an effort but i could´t suffer any longer 🙂 - As mentioned rMBP 13" 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM
Hei,
I found a way to fix it in another question in this forum. Someone lauchned AutoCAD 2013 and just after the whole system worked again fluently. I tested it for myself and it worked just fine. Can't tell why.
There's a test version of it, if you don't have a license.
hi, by fresh then i guess you did a backup of the main drive and you blew everything and the reinstalled?
Yes, i put the installer on a USB drive formated the ssd and then reinstalled OSX (encrypted again, installed all application, customized everything, setup all my accounts a.s.o. ...). Could have used the Backup for the Applications and Settings but i wanted to be sure thats not the cause for the lags. In the meantime some guys discovered a workaround using AutoCAD 2013 as mentioned by Pappa90.May be this is the more comfortable way 🙂
hi guys
I found my workwaround....
I remember that right after the installation of Mavericks, I had the first message that said: "flip4mac is not compatible" blah blah....
Then I (today) decided to uninstall it, and voila....
The dock does not lag at all...
I tried several times so far, and it does NOT lag....
but i tried once disk permission repair under "safe boot mode" but I didn't see anything being repaired....
so, there you go...
you can see if there are some uncompatible third-party apps....
I has some similar problems with a Mac mini 2.3 Ghz, 8 MB Ram. So it is not the lack or RAM. I also had the trackpad not responding on start up every 3 or 4 start-ups. Only way was to shutdown and restart
Someone else (cant find the post now) recommeded a PRAM start up, you start the computer and before the screen goes grey, so be quick, press 4 keys: Ctrl, CMD, p and r together, the Ctrl key is the one next to cmd key the one with the funny tuning fork, sometimes it has alt on it on the Mac keyboards.
Hold it down for at least a few seconds, the computer will restart and in my case several problems disappeared
