My iPad 3 64GB and iPhone5 64GB was stolen during robbery. No help from local police. I want to make these 2 devices unuseable to who ever has it now.

I sincerely hope you have Find My iPhone turned on on both devices. If you did you can go to iCloud.com on any computer, sign in with your Apple ID and send a lock or erase command. If you didn't have Find My iPhone turned on your out of luck.
i have find my iphone on both devices and could track it for 2 days then it goes offline intermittenly. Now its always offline.
i want to make sure the one having the device now cannot use both device whatever they do. How do i do that please.
i believe the person saw the message because it is offline after i initiated the message. Yes both device has different lock screen password and both on icloud and both were updated to iOS7 2 days before being stolen.
after sign in click find my iphone.select which device and click on it
and click lost mode from there you can add a phone number and a message.
If you have enabled Lost Mode, whoever stole your iPad/iPhone will not be able to activate both devices.
If you have not enabled Find My iPad, you can't track, lock or wipe your iPad.
go to icloud.com and sign in.
you can display a message when the ipad connects to wifi or cellular.did you have a password on it? and is it on ios 7?
i already done all these steps. I just want to make sure even if the device is reloaded or formatted or anything it will never work at all or works only if icloud is logged in.
