Like Susan, I'm still having problems. I can see the cookies settings on the Privacy pane but there's no option there to "allow cookies from sites to which I navigate". I cannot get in to my internet bank.

Update: it looks like it may be that Nationwide in the UK has been tardy in updating its site for the Mavericks version of Safari. Until Nationwide gets its act together, the answer is to use another browser. The Nationwide site is working on Chrome.

Hi...

If you select "Block cookies..." from third parties and advertiers,

Safari will block cookies from pages you don't open yourself.

From Safari help:

From third parties and advertisers

Reject cookies and other data from websites other than those you open. This might help prevent advertisers from storing cookies and other data on your computer.

So, that should work. It do at my end anyway.

And yes, you might have a point in that some sites need to adjust to this OS update...

I did all of these things (I think) but still have to use Firefox to get at my Nationwide Internet banking. Nationwide tell me that they are working on it. Certainly the "block cookies .." described by Denico does nothing for me. Perhaps I have set someting else wrong whilst struggling yesterday to get it working. As Nationwide are aware why don't they put a warning on the Login Page?

Trusteer has fixed the issue that was causing this problem for Nationwide internet banking in the UK and for certain other banks. You need their latest software update to resolve the issue.

If you uninstalled Trusteer, then reinstalling it (from your bank's original link) should do the trick.

If you just stopped Trusteer, you can do this instead:

Open System Preferences > Trusteer Endpoint Protection

Start Rapport again (top right of the panel).

Click on "Check for updates now" (lower middle of the panel).

Let the spinning thing finish spinning.

Fully close Safari (using Quit).

Restart your Mac (Trusteer needs the computer to be restarted in order to apply updates).

Everything should now work OK.

Edit:

PS. The link to install / reinstall Trusteer Rapport for Nationwide Building Society customers (UK) is here:
