HP C4599 Printer/scanner/copier no longer works properly wireless or connected with OS X Mavericks since upgrading from OS X 10.8

A few issues to note are proir to updating to mavericks everthing worked perfectly and seemlessly!!!

when sending anything to the printer now both wirelessly or via the usb cable the printer takes ages to accept the incoming information and most of the time freezes and or only completes substandard partial prints on occasion i manage to get a full print out but have to reset the printer and all setting on the computer before attempting to try another print. very frustrating!!!! i have checked the printers network and have run the printers diagnostic and has come back fine soo have come to the conclusion that its the software in maericks causeing the issue.

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Hello Waldo_87,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information on this, take a look at:

Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147

  1. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
  2. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
  3. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.

If the issue persists, try these additional steps:

Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.

Best of luck,

Mario
