Size difference of iPhoto Library between HD and TM backup

2 issues in one. I have two acounts on my macbook pro and want to delete one of them. I was told that I had to reset to factory settings before I can do that, so I used Time Machine to perform a back-up of the HD before I can reset the macbook. Now, when I checked the back-up files to make sure everything was there, I noticed that the iPhoto Library file on the HD was 97Gb and only 73Gb on the back-up file. With such a big size difference, I'm worried that some photos may be missing in the back-up. Thoughts? Thanks!

To be safe, I would use Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper! or even Disk Utility Restore to Clone the entire HD onto different External HD or space permitting on to a seperate partition of your TM drive.

Then, continue using CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper as part of your backup strategy.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but all you need to do is go to System Preferences/Users & Groups and delete the account.

Our problem is that we want to delete the account that was used to activate the laptop and when we go to System Preferences/Users & Groups, the account is grayed out. I don't think it can be done as an administrator either.

Thanks, this is helpful, but does not really answer my question. Is it possible to see the photos that were backed up?
