Importing images from iPhoto into iMovie 10, green image

I had the same issue. I did a work around that fixed it. if you drag and drop the photo from iphoto to the desktop and rename the file. Then drag the renamed file from the desktop to iMovie. This works..when i dragged the renamed file from the desktop it went in no problem 🙂 🙂 hope this helps!!!

I tried all the suggested solutions but still the same green frame. Using Graphic Converter I saved a .jpg as a .png and that seems to be accepted by iMovie 10. Graphic Converter can do a batch file conversion so that's reletively easy. Have now tried exporting photo's direct from iPhoto as PNG and that works also!

Very suprised / annoyed that Apple does not monitor this forum and provide a fix.

Yes. after hours, I finally manipulated the iMovie, by: 1. Click green photo 2. File 3. Reveal in folder. 4.Select, by one click(name of photo now) to change name of photo 5. Drag back to iMovie, where you revealed. 6. Delete black "?" photo, of original "green".

Maybe if you create a folder on your desk top; sort files in date of creation(if a story) or how ever you want the movie to be, FIRST and change all names of files sequentially and then when that folder is ready; select all and drag to iMovie.

I tried to manually do this all in iMovie; and wasted hours. If you set-it-up outside, in folder... maybe you'll save some time. ?

Did anyone ever fins a solution that really works? I've tried everything mentioned, including rebuilding a new Photos library from the masters folder. Another work around was to edit each photo I wanted to import into iMovie by selecting <edit><crop><apperature> and then changing it from freeform of either 16:9 or 4:3. That seemed to keep it from turning green the longest...but the pics were green within three-five minutes. If people are still having this prob with the 2011 Macs, I think a class-action suit is warranted!
