Hello, I import my quicktime video to iMovie, only to find it red, and this has happened to all of my videos, does this show up when exported, or will it be normal? Also, how can I fix the red tint? I am using the newest iMovie on Mavericks
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I don't know if this helps solve the problem, but I also have this problem importing a screen cap into both Final Cut Pro and iMovie. Maybe this means it's not just iMovie

I exported the screen recorder to a 720p version.
File -> Export -> 720p...
Then made user it saved as a .mov. Worked like a champ. Might be the HD aspect that is throwing off the ratio when going in to iMovie. I didn't try converting it to HD.

Well, iMovie 10.0.1 comes out, doesn't fix the red glitch, PLEASE APPLE!!!!!!!
This guy solved it... Munclematt2. Export your file to 720 and it'll work fine in iMovie.
Open your QuickTime version, export it as 720 and it'll work with iMovie. Munclematt2's solution works.
That's exactly what I do all the time, but it doesn't work. I'll try saving in 720, then opening it , and exporting again in 720. That may work, I'll check

I think I found a way to deal with that bug :
Right click on the file that will be red in iMovie, then select something like "encode the selected video files" (here in French) :
Then you'll see that screen (still in French) :
The encoded file is a .m4v and works well in iMovie.
Kind of a tip until Apple correct the bug.

Here is another solution that will work if you have tried many things and they have failed. Click the link
All you have to do when you export from Quicktime is change the file extension.
There's no need to go through all the hoops of converting your file, losing quality, etc. etc.
Just change the extension of the screen cap to .mp4 and it will import with no problems.
Hasn't failed me yet!
