my facebook setting keeps saying "Error Signing In" "could not communicate with the server." How do I fix this?

I cant log in to my app because the message comes instantly, and even I press "cancel" it doesnt go away. Only option responding is "settings" which send me to my ipad settings but doesnt recognize my password.
I dont know what else to try!😟

Go into settings/privacy/Facebook and disable the button.

disable what button? i only have one button to disable and its an app for a game and it still doesnt work? help pls

these things dont work for me any other advice?

Ok this is the step by step I followed and it worked.

The link provided in previous post shows some pictures that i thought might be helpful, but here is the step by step I used to resolve the problem.

1. On ipad Go to Settings > Privacy > Facebook

2. Disable Facebook (its a toggle button)

3. Log into your Facebook on your computer and click on the gears icon

4. Go to Settings > Security > Recognized Devices

5. Click the ‘Edit’ button and ‘Remove’ the Facebook for iPad

6. On the iPad, go to Settings > General > Reset

7. Press ‘Reset Location & Privacy’ and confirm

8. Open Facebook through the app on iPad

The next thing to try is to force close all apps and reset. Double-tap the home button, then swipe UP on the app window (not the icon underneath). Do this for all open apps, then reset the device: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. Try again after the reboot.

still the same... i can only open facebook in to safari which is annoying and some application needs facebook access like Hayday.. i reinstalled facebook 3 times and ive done this rebooting so many times yet no good result... plss help

I am having the same issues. I have tried resetting my PW and this still does not resolve the issue. I have looked on other forums and they say it may be an IOS issue with an old email address and to change your email address but I don't want to do this.

Any other thoughts ?

It seems to be a Facebook issue and not an Apple problem. People are saying it is due to the latest update of Facebook. At this point the only recourse is to use Facebook through Safari and wait for a bug fix from Facebook.

Go into settings/privacy/Facebook and disable the button.

Open your Facebook app and login.

Once logged in go back to that button and enable.

You may have to re-enter your password but the error will be gone.

Pierce.nicholas depicts the problem to a T.

I'm guessing some people are on iOS 6 and some on 7? I am on 7 and have same issue as described by Pierce.nicholas.

In my case, brand new iPad. Not changed my Facebook log in details, guessing I mistyped my username when I logged in for the first time.

The most infuriating part of this bug is that the 'delete account' button does nothing... If that worked it would be a simple case of deleting it and adding it again.

Apple, sort it out please!!! Can't imagine this is a difficult bug to solve. Not being able to use the Facebook integration is a pretty major flaw.

What solved it for me:

On connected device

Facebook app > settings > security > active sessions :

delete other sessions

and back in security disable "secure browsing", until you log onto Facebook on another device.

That should resolve this issue

1) i logged out of facebook BOTH on my iphone and on my computer

2) iphone settings --> facebook --> delete account

3) iphone settings --> facebook --> enter email (not phone number) and password

4) I no longer get the error message "cannot communicate with the server" in the iphone settings --> facebook screen

5) logged back into the facebook app

I've been having this same issue for a long while as well and I've felt like throwing my iPad out the window. But I guess it's my own fault for buying apple. Seeing as this problem started after a factory reset after my iPad CRASHED, I will not be restoring it again just to fix this problem. I will however be buying android.

as you may see above from myself and others, this does NOT work. For Step 2 many of us, under PRIVACY, then Facebook shows NOTHING! there are no applications associated with your Facebook account. it is blank. proceed to Step 3, does NOT work 😠

Ok...deleted recognized devices. Didn't work. Removed app from iPad. Didn't work. Tried both at the same time, didnt' work. Reset whole ipad. Didn't work. Tried resetting location and privacey. Didn't work. Any suggestions? Besides buying a new device? At any time, Apple can help. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
