Cannot set Numbers 2.3 as default app

Hi

Recently I installed Numbers 3.0 only to realize that the app suffered from severe downgrades, which basically makes it useless for anything else than opening 3.0 sheets sent by other people.

For that reason I want to make all of my Numbers documents open in Numbers 2.3 again. However…

When I do the CMD-I thing, set v2.3 as default and chosse "apple to all", it jumps right back to 3.0.

Anyone else experiencing this bug?

I am running Mavericks 10.9 (13A603)

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 16GB / 500GB SSD / 1TB HDD

I'll title this post "Numb and Numbers". 😁

First of all, thank you to the volunteers and end users who have offered helpful suggestions that seem to have worked for everyone.

I'm glad the rest of you got it working. 🙂

Me, on the other hand, have tried them all and they don't work. 😟

I wish Apple would chime in here. I need to keep Numbers 3 and 2 on the same computer, but I want v.2 to be the default. When I change it, even as the admin, in Get Info, and select "use this application to open all documents like this one", and press Change All; the program selected in the dropdown changes **back** to Numbers 3. I tried having Numbers 2.3 open, and when I double clicked a Numbers file, version 3 opened. 😠

I renamed version 3 from "Numbers" to "Dumbers", but that didn't help. Am i really going to have to put Numbers 3 on a USB stick and delete it from my MacBook Air? Say it ain't so.
