Complete Disaster with OS X Mavericks?

Installed OS X Mavericks last night and got to enjoy a Apple meltdown--can't find my wi fi, so no internet or printer, lost Pages, Numbers and Keynote (which I never used so no loss, I guess), tells me I can't access iPhoto on the machine (never had a problem before) and can't access e-mail.

Off to the fix-it shop--oh, right, forgot, the "genious bar". I'll keep you posted as to what happens next.

Thankfully I have my trustee Windows based Toshiba to post this with.

Thanks Apple!

Oh, I guess I should say somnething positive here about OS X. The ne3w screensaver looks nice.

Well explain to me why this morning I type communicate and spell check changed it to community. That's just one of many many examples.

Since you know these things are working perfectly explain that. I sure as **** can't. I did NOT used to have this sort of problem in Snow Leopard.

Now I do.

It just happens? On your computer screen? On the lid? on the mouse? In a particular program? Are you on medication?

You have given us no information on your computer and system setup. You have thread jumped someone else's thread instead of starting your own thread and have really not even given us a problem or issue to try to help you troubleshoot.

Now you want to start a Class Action. I think we have seen pretty clearly where the issue really is.

Thanks for your time

So clever...

I made one comment on a thread and you and that other guy took it from there.

In this case (communicate and spell check changed it to community) it was in Mail but I see the same things happening in other Apps also. Pages for example, Safari as another example.

And since we are commenting about Mavericks on this discussion I think we can safely assume I am running Mavericks. Actually 10.9.4

In this case on a near new Mackbook Pro with it's second clean install of Mavericks.

So you explanation of why this is happening is ?

Open your own thread. Can you not understand that? Also include an etrecheck report so we can tell what computer/System setup you actually have.

etresoft a long time contributer to Apple Support Communities wrote a very useful app he called etrecheck which helps in diagnosing many problems caused by third party installs etc.. Go to his website, read his information and from there download and run the program according to his instructions

If that is beyond you, then so will be any advice we would be 'guessing' for you.

8383 - Mavericks by default sets auto spell correction as "on" system wide. Here's a link to an article about how to turn auto spell correction off, either globally, or, application-by-application:

Example for application specific spell check settings for Pages 5.0:

Pages for Mac 5.0: Check spelling

When changing settings for either global auto spell check or application specific, it may require either a computer restart or restarting an application.
