FCPX 10.0.9 does not export since Mavericks Update

Start with repairing permissions in Disk Utility and trashing preferences.

Which export option are you using? Select a very short section of your timeline and see whether choosing Sahe> master file works.

This fixed it for me. There is an App Nap setting in Get Info for FCP in the Applications folder. Here how to change it.

Could this be a problem caused by App Nap?

Go to /Applications in the Finder, select Final Cut Pro, Cmd-I. In the Get Info window, check the box "Prevent App Nap".

I upgraded to 10.9 today.

So far, I've found FCPX to be solid – using a variety of exporting options – and probably faster than it was on 10.8 (and certainly 10.6).

How long is the project (or projects) that won't export? I want to explore the App Nap thing.

Length of the project seems irrelevant. The export simply goes on hold when FCP is not the application in focus, unless you prevent app nap.

I'm not finding that. If I ever do, I'll post back.

I have the same problem. Old projects that exported no problem now don't export what so ever.

I did have a new project that didn't and still won't export, but will in small clips that I choose.

Why would none of the old projects still not export. Mavricks did something and I'm desperate. I get error -50 message.

8g RAM.

I have a 27inch mid 2011 i5, 8gb ram, radeon 6770m and ever since I updated to Mavericks I can't export anything on FCPX. I've deleted render files both project and event. I've optimized media and turned background rendering off. Also tried exporting to master.

None of the above works. I made frequent exports previous to Mavericks in the exact same 2 projects and every time now I get to 10% share and then an error - 50 every time almost immediately. I just tried an 18 second project and 1 minute of the same project and both said ' can't export - 50 error '.

I'm desperate. I want to try again on imovie but am terrified all this will happen agian.

since mavericks i have the following error:

"the share operation master file has failed. the operation could not be completed because an error occured when creating frame XXX (error-1)", i have this message in german language. but it appeared first time in mavericks. never had this error since july 2012 when i bought the macbook pro retina. i had this error at least 8 times, i could only export once correctly. the frame which is indicated is not broken, because next time i tried the process went over this frame but indicated another frame. so what to do?? thanks for helping!!

Did you ever trash perferences and repair permissions?

Create a new user account and a test project with differnt (good) media and export.

i do not have a bad frames within my original file or project and a new user account was also not necessary,

but deactivation of NAPP APP was at least 2 times a solution. under mavericks i could export for the first time with no error

I'm glad your problems have gone away.

Preventing App Nap is not a universal cure for exporting problems, the causes of which are varied from user to user.

By way of comparison, I have intentionally not checked the Prevent App Nap box and my projects (knock on wood) export perfectly well.

I have tried my same movie project that I can't export through FXPX, in 10 minute and 20 minute sections on imovie 10.0 ( which actually performs better than FCPX latest version with less delay ) and those movies exported fine. So for me there is something wrong with FCPX.

I had the same issue try this.

Select the media on your project by CMD + A, then copy CMD + C.

Create new project, and paste footage into it by CMD + V

Now try exporting to a master file through the share command on FCP X.

This should either work or send you a better error message that tells you which frame of media has the issue in it. Then you can go to that frame and replace it or delete it then this should work.

Try this and let us know how you get on - it should work ok and is low risk for you.
