In Mail, how can I hide the Junk mbox?

In Mail, how can I hide the Junk mbox? I tried deleting it through Go \ Library \ Mail \ (POP Verizon), but it just regenerates. Thanks!

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Hide from what view?

Try: Mail->Preferences->Junk Mail and uncheck "Enable Junk Mail Filtering"
