Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
The presentation was closed 5 minutes ago and was all ok. Now after opening the file all the images that were pasted from illustrator and other sources are mixed. I'm forced to relink all images manually wich is quite a pain.
Is there a way to fix things?

I use Synchronize Plus also but it doesn't seem to be the problem. Avoiding dropped figures does not fix the problem. Figures inserted using saved files are also moving around. Keynote 6 is a dog's dinner, in my opinion. Sadly I paid for this mess!
Apple doesn't seem to be in a hurry to provide a fix. The longer they wait, the more they lose.
It is definitely time to go back to Microsoft PowerPoint!
I'm also having this issue of images being mixed up. In my case I spent a while creating a template, and the template itself is now all mixed up. If I try copy/pasting images into the template to fix the issue, they show up in the template as the wrong image. It's bizarre and extremely frustrating.
This suddenly happened to me today. Awful.
I even have a couple of instances where the image is changed in the navigator view on the left but the slide is actually ok. Weird.
I'm pretty sure it's a Dropbox thing.
What a drag. I don't want to use icloud because I work on my presentations in planes and things.
I now don't think this is a Dropbox issue.
I opened an older file with pictures not from DB. I copied and pasted a picture from the old into the new file, where a picture had been changed.
It pasted as the changed picture (the one I did not want) and in the "style" tab of the inspector there was yet another image.
When I click on image they are all called "pasted-image.pdf". If you click on replace it asks you to go pick an image from a file.
Apparently the new version of keynote cannot manage too many pasted images. It wants them all to have separate names.
Wow. If I have to do that to ALL my presentations I am well and truly up the creek!
I hope Apple can fix this.
This is exactly how it looks to be. They are teaching me to be more accurate and systematic in my workflow – I know it's for my good :)
Well, there is that. But surely Apple have become great by adapting to their consumers. Now it seems we have to change their ways to fit into their software.
I understand that if we all apply the same rigour and application, we would all be better off, but hey, that will never happen.
Having separate names for every picture does not work either. I tried. Keynote 6 has a serious flaw with pictures. There is no doubt about it. The question is when will Apple fix it?
I wonder if it's a problem associated with the fact that Finder doesn't refresh propertly in Cover flow (a known issue with Mavericks).
Incidentally, I had another disaster with Keynote 6. It issued a message "Keynote needs to close..." and simply deleted the file I was editing. This happened just before I was about to give a presentation. Needless to say I was furious!

Apple seems to be more interested in updating things like iPhoto and Remote Desktop Client than Keynote!
Apple got in touch with me again. They requested more problem files.
We may get some updated version yet!

Could someone explain what s the best way to deactivate keynote 6.0 and work with 5.3....under mavericks ?

Apple have stated they will add upgrades to Keynote 6 during the first half of 2014.

Yes, it is a user to user help forum. However, Apple reads all comments posted. I know because they've told me when requesting Keynote files to study.
As for using Keynote 5.3, that is not problem free on Mavericks.
In my opinion, it is unacceptable for a major corporation to take such a long time to solve the problem.

No they dont, there are far to many posts made every day to read them, they use a monitoring system to look for specific issues.
Which is why Apple uses our free donated labour in helping each other.
