ARD 3.7 crashes

Since upgrading to ARD 3.7 from 3.6 I and my systems manager have been experiencing many problems. ARD 3.7 crashes multiple times a day, versions 3.6 and earlier rarely crashed. It seems to have a lot of problems authenticating clients, clients will show up in the wrong groups, etc. I am wondering if other people have seen these problems. Both my and my system manager's iMacs are running Mac OS X 10.8.5. Clients are running Mac OS X 10.6.8 through 10.8.5.

Should I simply delete the data files and rebuild the ARD database from scratch or is there a much bigger problem with ARD 3.7?

Rebuilding my ARD database did the trick. ARD is now working better than ever before. My systems manager also rebuilt his ARD database with the same positive results.

I deleted the ARD prefs file and the files in Application Support in user Library. But ARD still showed the same database. ARD is sandboxed so I had to go into ~/Library/Containers and then throw away com.apple.RemoteDesktop folder from there.

This can be a pain, especially if you have a larger network with multiple subnets.

Unfortunately rebuilding from scratch. I don't know of a way to rebuild the database, which would be nice. Perhaps there is a way and I don't know it. If it is merely and problem of corrupted indexes that should do the trick, but I don't know.

I still have to go around the office and turn on some Macs just so I can add them to ARD.

Yes, I know this will be a pain for some people. Fortunately I have only 85 Macs and almost all are on the same subnet.

Thank you sir.

All of the above. I did what Paul suggested and I still can not get it to work correctly. When I try to access a workstation, all I get is the barber pole. My main access computer is an iMac running 10.9. My workstations are all running 10.8.5. And all computers have been upgraded to ARD 3.7 (unfortunately). This is just utter crap! Apple needs to bump this up to a red tag and get it fixed ASAP!!

I have had only one problem since upgrading. That is, a very small number of computers either do not show up in my lists or flicker in and out. This may be an OS 10.8.5 and below issue though. I am testing on this on 10.9 and will post my results when complete. I have noticed that on some workstations, I had to go directly to the Apple.com support site and manually download the ARD 3.7.1 as it did not show up for some reason in the App store updates. And, remember, you must also download/update the ARD Admin update to your command computers, as well.

Besl of luck.
