Every time my new macbook air wakes up the wi-fi connection doesn't automatically connect even though I set it to auto connect

I have a same problem on MacBook Pro Late 2013, OSX 10.9.2

I turned my bluetooth on, then off again, and I no longer have the problem now as long as bluetooth is off. But this is not an okay fix. I'm just lucky I don't use bluetooth often.

I will be calling tech support again, sigh....

Some people that I have helped reported that resetting the SMC solves the issue. It may or may not work.

The SMC is responsible for controlling various system functions. None of your data will be deleted by resetting the SMC.

Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…

Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.

Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.

On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.

Release the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.

I have the same problem on my MacBook Pro and it is very annoying as I am using bluethooth a lot. Apple seems to have addressed this issue on the iMac but not on the other ones... I am not sure if I should try the SMC fix. Can this do any harm?

I tried it but it does not help. only turning off bluetooth which I use all the time does help. very frustrating...

I have also tried this (and everything else that Apple Support could suggest) and nothing works.

I have this problem too. Its costing me money and time.

Apple dont care this is a number of issues with apple.

There is no way to complain.

I hope there shares take a nose dive so they sit up and listen, but then this is to late.

How does that question solve my issue?

But to answer when I need internet while out the office and it dont work I cant get on with work.

Any one there tecnical that can solve this issue or how to get apple to get things working.

Go to > system preferences > Network > Advanced > Wifi

Delete all the connections you do not need anymore ie hotspots, airports, hotels, etc...

And drag your connections in order of preference / most frequent use

Exit and save preferences

It will now connect much faster since it doesn't have to go through the whole list to find the right credentials

Had the same problem. I had to click turn wifi off and then back on again evey time after my Imac running Maverick OSX awoke from sleep. This was my solution - Go to System Preferences and click on the Energy Saver icon. Uncheck the box that says " wake for network access. This did the trick for me.

None of these fixes work for me. I have tried them all.

I am still affected by the bug that disconnects wifi when my MBA goes to sleep and fails to reconnect automatically when it is woken from sleep.

I can confirm it only happens when on battery and when bluetooth is turned on.

I wonder if this is caused by the new AC wifi...

PS - I turned bluetooth back on and it still auto connects to wifi when I come back from sleep mode.
