in the old imovie, after rejecting clips, you can delete the rejected clips to the trash.
how can i do that on the new imovie 10 with in maverick.
i see my rejected clips but i cannot delete them.

This is a very bad idea. Never mess-up with clips in the package. The package is a kind of database that only should be managed through the iMovie app.
If you are to interfere directly with the database structure, you never know what you wil destroy in having iMovie working properly.
Same applies by the way for iPhoto/Photo's, iTunes, Aperture.
There is a reason why Apple put this in a "package"
