Try making sure the auto brightness is turned off and then reset it. I reset it while it was still switched on and it didn't work the first time

I do not think it's related to the glue under the glass, since that's not the way the new iPad Airs are asembled, but rather the screen itself.

how do you think the multiple layers of a modern touchscreen LCD are held together? laminated together with mulitple layers of glass and glue basically...

All the display units in every Apple Store have the brightness at 100%. That alone usually masks any discoloration problem and also hides any book spine shadow.

However when I compared my Air to them (mine also got 100% brightness), almost all of their displaying Air got whiter screen than mine 😁

Actually I didn't do really statistics but to so far I recall most of the DMQL I got was bringing the yellow tint and book spine issues on the left part of the screen.

Note to self; Never buy any mass-produced new product on its first production run. It will be loaded with glitches, mistakes, bugs and inconsistencies.

You are referring to the "white box replacement" that is offered after the 14 day return period ends.
