OS X Mavericks download not working

Ok so this is probably my 5th time trying at this download. I have a macbook air and I have looked up ways to make the download work. I've tried re installing the app and rebooting my laptop. Everytime I install the app the bar does not move. It stays the same. I have run out of options on what to do. Any help?

I had a similar problem,

Apps store allowed the 'purchase' but would ot even start the download. currently running 10.6.8..tried 10.8.4 but did not like what thy (Apple) did to Note & Address book, so went back to 10.6

I could not download at all. The Download button saw dark grey..could click it and then the rotating lines would appear at top left of the window, button would change..then it would change back to 'dark grey and "Download" again.

Download would never start.

Tried all the solutions as listed in the last three pages, nothing helped? OS X 10.6.8 incomaptibility to allow download maybe?

Solved it by d/loading on the laptop..running 10.8.4...well d/load just started..saying 8 hours to complete at moment

I never had any OS X 10.9 Resume Download icon in my dock.

I followed all the various fixes, and never noticed it appear. It certainly never wanted to d/load from the App Store window.

So I gave up and used another machine to d/load it.

While it was d/loading I continued my work on the main Mac.

I have my dock set to auto hide, so only see it when I need it.

Next time I went to the dock... There was a Resume D/load Icon.

So maybe after deleting the various files/ folders associated with App Store, as detailed previously, do a couple of shut downs/ restarts, maybe re opening the App Store in between,

Too many dock items? I don't know, but is there a limit to the number of items in the dock? I know I also removed some dock icons around this time. Maybe removing some made room for the Resume D/load one I did not see?

Shooting in the dark with that but anything worth a shot

This is the exact issue I am having - I'm upgrading from 10.7.5. I've tried all the multitude of fixes listed here, nothing is allowing the upgrade to even begin to download. What on earth am I supposed to do.

I must have Keynote to complete a presentation ASP - Can't haev Keynote without 10.9.1. I am beyond frustrated right now, I could cry.

Please tell me someone knows what in the world is going on here.

I had the exact same issue. I finally let the computer alone to download. It was wicked slow, but it did download. So click download, and walk away for an hour or so - WHen you return you should see the progress bar has moved in the launchpad ontop of the Mavericks logo. =) Good luck with patience, it took all of mine to get throught this. =)

It's already 2014 and I'm experiencing the same difficulty. But.... I decided not to go nuts and just be patient as people here is advising.

So, I decided to go to my sister's place because she has a land internet connection and could use the Ethernet cable to try to make the download faster than with my 3G wifi internet connection at home. Guess what? No speed improvement that I can really talk about. But.... I did as someone before pointed out, keep monitoring the App Store, the launch pad and the status bar in finder. After 3 hours, my HD have gone from 70.2 Gb to 68.4 Gb, and the blue bar at the launchpad icon is slowly increasing. The white bar at the mavericks icon in the launchpad is not showing anything different than downloading..... But for the space occupation of the HD, I can say it's actually downloading.

So, if in 3 hours it had downloaded almost 2Gb, calculating the 3.5 still missing will take about 6 more. I will have to go home and come back to my sister's tomorrow to see the out comings.

Maybe it has to do with speed or capacity of the origin servers, because the internet connection works fine with any other internet activity, even with Apple websites....

Being more patient is one of my purposes for this new year 2014, and I'm in training with this.

Happy new year to everyone!

Of course you can. Mine is a MacBook 13" from mid 2011. I had the latest Lion update before I installed Mavericks.

Updating the info, it took all night to finish downloading the installer. I copied it to another folder before installing, to be able to create a bootable recovery USB. Then installed just fine, no clean install. Only problem was mail, which had to re-count all the messages in all accounts.

Hope you finally get the installer downloaded!

I'm having this and many of the related issues listed herein. I am attempting this over my home wireless network - that is likely a big problem and will address that as soon as I can. But these discussions have at least helped me realize the App store is buggy and that I'm not helping matters attempting a gigundo download via wireless.

Will update once I succeed!

Bought a Mac Mini last week and all was well till I got an extension kernel panic of pop up warnings. Rebooted and the system never launched since. Ended up erasing the drive with Disk Utilities via the Recovery Drive window (Hold Option on restaert) after a failed reinstall of Mavericks via the high speed connection. The window said it would take 15.5 hours to download on high speed internet 5MBs

Tried again and got the same message (15+ hours to downlaod Mavericks) to the effect the download was incomplete after 7 hours. Now I'm stuck with a dead computer after one week and no rescue boot drive. Phone support here in Canada was good but what can they do if the problem is between my computer and a software server that's slow in California? 😢

I suggest: Supply an emergency boot flash jump card with all new computers.

Mine was downloading just fine and when it has only 1.5 gb left, it just stops downloading and the App Store asked for my log in password AGAIN. And I WAS BACK TO ZERO percent downloading again.

My patience is killing me. Really. What's wrong with App store?

I waited weeks and weeks to finish downloading and this happened.

Can please someone explain. I'm tired of downloading it again and again.

Thank you so much for listening to my rant.

I've tried everything in this post and keep getting the same error. "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again." There is nothing wrong with my Intenet connection. I'm getting 20Gb and have not had issues downloading other large files on other Mac's in my house.

Is there ny way I can get a CD? I'm on a Mac Pro running Lion 10.7.5.
