Cannot sync Google calendar on iPad Air

My Google calendar is not showing up on my iPad Air. While added my Gmail account to the iPad mail client, I made sure to select the 'Calendar' option. Is there anything else that I need to do? The iOS version is 7.0.3.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Had same problem on ipad air. My iPad 1 had google calendar account set up with exchange account. But on iPad air this calendar doesn't show up. Here's how it worked for me:

In settings - mail, contacts, calendars, tap "add account" and select "Google". Enter your google account data and then you can enable mail, contacts, calendars and notes. They all work for me. No need for calDAV or other crap.

I know this issue has probably been solved already, and I have just encountered this when using my new iPad Air 2, same story goes, set up gmail acoount , turn calendar on but it is just not showing up in calendar.

My solution: turn off wifi, and connect your iPad to your iPhone using iPhone hot spot, I'm not sure why, ever since I did that, Google calendar show up immediately.
