Keep getting this tiny square in upper left of screen. This is preventing my use of gmail and redirect buttons etc.

I get that text in the wordpress pages I write. I thought it was a bug in a theme, but I now find it occurring in a second site I'm working on.
I have found the culprit - if you go to Safari "Preferences" in "Extensions" you may see a weird "extension" called "1". Try to get rid of it, or disable extensions. This was causing havoc on my gmail. I believe it is spyware of some sort... You can also try installing a malware remover of some sort - Kaspersky maybe?
