mavericks update keychain access not accepting passwords

Every since I updated to mavericks I am gettting these pop ups that are asking for me to enter my keychain access password for all different access. Every time I enter my password it is rejected. I have tried to reset my default password, did not work. Tried keychain first aid did not work. In addition when I look for these keychain passwords for the websites they are not listed in my password keychain I cannot find them to deal with them indiviually. I have lost the ability to use safari, email, even system preferences. everytime I try to use them they freeze up and I am forced to use force quite. Frustrating to say the least. Can anyone point me in the right direction to assist me.

Thanks

These are the different pop up's:

1. talagent wants to use the "local items"keychain

2. com.apple.icloudhelper.xpc wants to use the "local items" keychain

3. clendarAgent wants to use the "local items" keychain

4.identityservicesd wants to use the "local items" keychain

5..accountsd wants to use the "local items" keychain

6.MAckeeper helper wants to use the "local items" keychain

7. AdressbooksourcesSync wants to use the "local items" keychain

Well, there are many weeks gone since I got the magic password prompt for the last time.

So the previous/obsolete password of administrator account seems to be all the system wanted for,

the procedure described by myself in this thread previously helped in my case.

For my luck it was only one password, and just one password change iteration back,

fortunately I didn't need to gather deep in password history and there was no more than

one obsolete password needed.

But how is the chance I will never run in these problems in the future,

means I will never need that obsolete admin password in the future?

It means, can I really wipe out the password from my memory?

Perhaps the good tip for future will be before upgrading to next os x version just

to switch off FileFault2 for the duration of the upgrade. Where this hint from?

Probs arose in this case after FV2 has been switched on.

I had the same problem, here is what I did:

  • Make sure you are logged in as administrator.
  • Open "Keychain Access".
  • Right (or control) click the keychain in question and select "Change Password for Keychain "(name of keychain)" from the drop-down menu.
  • Type your current administrator password in the "Current Password" field.
  • Type your current administrator password in the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields as well.

Best wishes, Vaughn

Hello There.

The FIX worked only until the apple software updated, after restart the Icloud keyckain asked for password.

Then After that, every time i open the machine from sleep or start up it pop up the windows.

I have updated the machine to Yosemite and still the same problem; It did not give me a chance to clean install the software.

How can i clean install the Yosemite software, this a solution i have not tried.

Please advise, i have been on the Genius Bar and also no good luck with this pesky problem.

Tks
