Hi Lenko800
I assume your reply was for me so I thought even though this doesn't have anything to do with helping the reply arrow funciton properly I'd give you an update on what Google has emailed me in terms of recommended set up. Just FYI, prior to Mavericks I had all the boxes unticked in Apple Mail (I can't remember the setting I had in Gmail). After I installed Mavericks after all the wooha and changes I somehow ended up with exactly the recommended settings as per below. Previously (before Mavericks) I had it set up that when I pressed delete in Apple Mail it would go to All Mail, I set it up this way because thats kinda how Gmail functioned so I thought Id do the same (only prob is you accumulate A LOT of stuff). Now when you press delete it goes to Trash which gets emptied every 30 days apparently automatically in Gmail... I'm not sure if this is the way I want to go and the guys at Google also gave me a solution to keep things in All Mail when I press delete in Apple Mail. I have pasted this below also.
Not really sure how the Google Response 2 works. I've changed the settings but stuff is still going into trash so not really sure what the deal is. Ive asked them to explain to me.
Anyway - not really sure which way I want to go... to trash or not!!!
Google Response 1 (recommended Gmail/Apple mail setup)
The main recommendation that we made to our customers is to enable the All mail label from your Gmail settings. However, we have found that there are some customers experiencing issues with their Drafts automatically been saved on Draft and then sent to the trash folder. In order to fix this issue I would recommend to follow these steps:
1. Quit Mail.app.
2. Log into Gmail in your favorite web browser.
3. Click on the gear menu and select "Settings".
4. Click on the "Labels" tab.
5. Under "System Labels", next to "Drafts", click on "show if unread" and uncheck the "Show in IMAP' box.
Now disable "Store draft messages on the server":
6. Launch Mail.app.
7. Select Mail > Preferences...
8. Click on the "Accounts" button in the toolbar.
9. Click once on the account name and then click the "Mailbox Behaviors" tab.
10. Uncheck the "Store draft messages on the server" box.
11. Close the window and opt to save your changes when prompted.
Google Response 2 (Delete to All Mail)
Something you can do to automatic archive the messages you delete on the Apple mail is to access to your Gmail settings and click on the tab that says forwarding and POP/IMAP. On the IMAP options select the option Auto-Expunge off to enable the other options and select the default one that says Archive the messages. This way, even though you delete them on the client, the messages are going to be archive.
